Fox Business Network host Lou Dobbs launched a surprising attack on US military chiefs who refused to attend President Trump’s Fourth of July celebrations – branding them “snowflakes” who “haven’t won a war since 1991.”
It was reported by CNN earlier Thursday that unnamed military chiefs had voiced concerns about Trump’s “Salute to America” event in Washington, D.C., fearing the president was politicizing an event that is traditionally a day of non-partisan patriotism.

“No wonder these Snowflake Generals haven’t won a war since 1991,” tweeted Dobbs, linking to a MailOnline report claiming that some military chiefs hesitated over whether to accept Trump’s invitation to the event.
Under military rules, personnel in uniform are forbidden from participating in political events.
Progressive veterans group VoteVets in response pointed out that Dobbs has never served in the military.

Others criticized Dobbs for attacking US military leadership on the Fourth of July.
Ronald Klain, former chief of staff to vice presidents Al Gore and Joe Biden, said: "I met many of these incredible men and women when I worked at the WH. Lou Dobbs isn't fit to carry their groceries."

Filmmaker and fromer US Army officer Rod Lurie wrote: "As a vet I certainly do not speak for all other vets. But to me, the American Military represents the best of us. Attacking them in this manner is unpatriotic and ungrateful - especially from a man like #LouDobbs who has never worn the uniform of our country."

Dobbs is one of President Trump's most vocal allies in the media, and has pushed conspiracy theories that "deep state" national security officials and Jewish financier George Soros are determined to unseat the president.
"God Bless America and our Great President!" he tweeted later on Independence Day.
Trump's Fourth of July speech at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington largely avoided the partisan rhetoric of his campaign speeches, and focused instead on praising the military.
